It's chilly outside, autumn/fall season is upon us. In the UK autumn weather 'theoretically' runs from September to November, I say 'theoretically' because this country will have you experience 4 seasons in one day.
New season means switching up the wardrobe pieces, packing away some of those strictly summer clothes and styling pieces slightly warmer.
From timeless trench coats, knitwear, boots and essential accessories, I have handpicked more than 11 essentials fall pieces that will complete your wardrobe this season and you will keep coming back them.
I recommend shopping within you wardrobe pieces from last season. However, if you would like to bring some new pieces, all the items in this post are linked for you to purchase.

1. Trench Coat
A fall classic, this is a wardrobe essential for everyone woman. Very lightweight for the chilly weather and perfect for layering as the weather gets colder. I recommend buying at least 2 sizes up.
A trench coat is bound to make any outfit put together.
2. Knitted Dress
Easy throw on for day or night, and effortless transition into winter. I recommend following wash instructions so it doesn't loose shape. Pair with boots or sneakers whilst opting for a waist belt as an accessory
3. Leather Belt
You can never go wrong with a belt, it goes pretty much with any outfit and makes everything look in place. e.g pair with the knit dress above. It's also perfect when you want to hold cardigans in place or cinch for a feminine silhouette.
Black or nude/beige are safer and essential colour options.
4. Leather Jacket
Like a trench coat, a leather jacket is a timeless wardrobe staple as temperatures get low. Very stylish and edgy. Perfect with a pair of jeans, leggings, or a pleated skirt. Easy to dress up or down.
I recommend investing in a real leather piece (linked below) that will last you seasons. I have a lambskin jacket from Karen Millen and feels new every time I wear it.
5. Ankle Boots
A practical and luxe addition to your footwear collection, they are the perfect transition piece into winter. Easy to style with any outfit.
I would recommend buying a size up to make it easier and comfortable to layer up sock on a winter's day.
Go block heels for comfort, Chelsea ankle boots are also a perfect street chic addition. All are linked below.
6. Oversized Jumper
A cosy wardrobe staple that will add a modern touch to your outfit. This will make any outfit look effortless, pair with jeans or short skirt with tights. Slightly tuck in on one end for a chic look.
I recommend following wash instructions to wear it for seasons to come.
Go for cashmere for a soft feel and luxe long lasting look.
7. Crossbody Bag
Who does not love a practical and chic handbag! The right handbag will elevate any look whilst carrying everyday essentials, and a crossbody bag will do just that.
I recommend getting real leather for a long lasting accessory.
I have also linked a shopper bag below for days when your crossbody bag is just not big enough.
8. Cardigan
Lighter and cooler alternative to a jacket. A personal favourite.
A cardigan is effortless but will give your outfit a sense of style, easily thrown on for quick errands, on a chilly evening and can even be styled for a smart look to the office.
I recommend accessorising with a belt for a more feminine silhouette.
9. Chunky Trainers
The chunky the better right? comfortable, fashionable and stylish, giving street vibes. Perfect for busy casual days.
10. Casual Trousers
Every woman needs a pair of descent pants to dress down or up, wear to brunch or the office. It's so versatile, you can easily get away with any style. Throw on a t-shirt, leather jacket and chunky sneakers, how about that?
I recommend going for wide (but not too wide) leg pants
11. Long Sleeve Shirt
For a casual or smart look, the long sleeves got you covered with the chilly weather. If things get chillier, layer with a blazer, trench coat or leather jacket. There are also great with any pair of pants, perfect with a pair of jeans.
Happy Autumn!
